GACE understands that eradicating poverty and safeguarding the environment, requires partnerships and collaboration. GACE, with support from its sister organization, Alaffia, pledges to help communities in Togo and Ghana, West Africa by promoting the fair trade of locally sourced raw materials for the manufacturing of its beauty products, and to identify people and organizations that are committed to making a difference. The Global Alliance for Community Empowerment

The Global Alliance for Community Empowerment (GACE)  is a public 501(c)(3)charity with a diversified board. GACE was founded in 2005 as a means for community members and other organizations to become involved in community improvement programs. These programs were funded by the sales of Fair Trade Certified products produced by West African enterprises.

For 10 years, GACE’s primary source of funding came from the Fair Trade Premium Fund of Alaffia, a US personal care manufacturer, and it’s fair trade suppliers. Since 2017, GACE diversified its funding base and has received additional resources from foundations, bilateral, individuals and volunteers to implement projects in Togo and Ghana. Today, we have 15 staff in West Africa operating maternal health, education water and environmental programs.

To all our donors and volunteers we say, Yanakokari, thank you for your support.
